Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic emphasized that he had good talks with French President Emmanuel Macron, which he believes will bring positive results for Serbia. Vucic stated that he discussed many topics with Macron, including Kosovo, highlighting that despite differences, their views are becoming closer on the issue.

"We talked about Kosovo and Metohija, we don’t agree on everything, it’s a fact that they recognized Kosovo's independence, but our views are getting closer," Vucic told journalists after the meeting in Paris.

He thanked the French president for understanding Serbia's position, adding that Macron truly "dives deep into it."

"He spoke with me for more than two hours, and I am infinitely grateful to him. That shows Serbia's position, and I am very happy about that, and I hope the citizens are too," Vucic said.

A good meeting, I believe it will be beneficial for Serbia

The president said he was satisfied with the conversation with Macron.

"I hope and believe it will bring good results for Serbia," Vucic emphasized.

He mentioned that they also discussed Serbia’s European future and geopolitical issues.

He said he believes Macron will make a statement regarding the Expo and that he expects a formally positive response regarding France’s participation.

There was also talk about how to resolve the issue of U.S. tariffs to avoid hurting the Michelin factory and others in Serbia.

"We concluded that we have good relations and what we need to do in the upcoming period," Vucic added.

The world is entering a turbulent time, the era of uncertainty is ahead, it's good we have an ally in France

Commenting on China's decision to "retaliate" against the U.S. with an 84% tariff, Vucic said that this was also one of the topics discussed with the French president.

He stated that they concluded the world is entering a turbulent period, an era of global uncertainty, and that it will last for a long time.

"Hard times are coming, and we all have to prepare. It's good that in Europe we have an ally like France. France is working, and I hope it will continue to work to calm the situation in Ukraine," warned the Serbian president.

He added that he discussed the situation in the Western Balkans and relations in the region with Macron.

"I had initiatives regarding the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as some other issues. We also discussed the situation in Serbia, and I am proud that we endured literally four months of terror in a peaceful and democratic way. We talked about the situation in the world, which is tough, but I believe that through cooperation and alliances with friends, we can do a lot," Vucic said.

He noted that the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina is the most difficult issue at the moment.

"I fought for a compromise because I cannot accept that the only solution is to arrest Milorad Dodik. That is not a solution, it is deepening the problem," Vucic said without providing details about the initiative he shared with the French president.

I am not interested in a transitional government

Commenting on the events in the country, Vucic repeated that he is not interested in a transitional government.

Regarding the gathering in Belgrade, scheduled for April 12th, he said that the number of citizens attending is not important to him, but the idea of freedom, resisting the occupier, and fighting for an independent and successful Serbia, which will unite in front of the parliament.

"I call on the people to come on April 12th at 7 PM in front of the Assembly to fight for Serbia, not to give it to those who want to destroy all its values. Be brave for yourself and your country and come on April 12th," Vucic said.

He also invited students to return to studying.
