Vucic met with Nikola Nedeljkovic: They wanted to break the young man just because he is a Serb

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has received Nikola Nedeljkovic today, a Serb who was released after six months in prison in Pristina.

Nedeljkovic was in custody for six months under charges from Pristina for allegedly "inciting ethnic hatred and intolerance".

"Thank you, Nikola, for coming with your parents. They were waiting for you the most. We know that the mother has health problems, she has been saying: "I just want to have my son back." Everything ended well, for the mother also," Vucic said.

The president asked Nikola how he had got through everything, and he said: "I knew I didn't do anything."

"Little has been known about the case of Nikola Nedeljkovic. Like many of our children from Serbia, on Vidovdan, and sometimes on some other day, our children and younger people go to Gazimestan. The video shows Nikola shouting "Serbia". What a terrible sin, and he had a "No Surrender" T-shirt. That is what his sin is. Then they found three KSF (Kosovo Security Force) members who did not repeat the incriminating act even before the court. They are not on the videos," Vucic said.

Vucic said it was like breaking into the apartments of Serbs and then bringing to trial two people who claimed that they had lived there, even though they had not.

So, he says, they wanted to break a young man here too, just because he is a Serb.

"We tried to help as much as we could, although it was difficult to talk to those who never wanted to talk. The most important thing was for you, Nikola, to keep a cool and clear head, and to wait for going back," the president said.

He said that Nikola likes to work with software and that he studied at the Belgrade Business Academy.

In this regard, the president proposed him two offers.

"We have two offers for you, one is to engage in humanitarian work at the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, and study at the same time, or to be at the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications with Minister Mihajlo Jovanovic. It's up to you to choose because we believe that someone with such a clear head and a patriotic attitude towards the country can help the country a lot. We saw what kind of family you come from, you will be a reinforcement for the state," Vucic said.

Nedeljkovic said that he would be the happiest if he could help people in Kosovo and Metohija.

Vucic pointed out that when he saw the hug of the family and Nikola when he returned, it meant so much to him, he was overjoyed.

"Your home in Sremcica suddenly was the home of each of our people in Serbia. Thank you for having a calm, cool, but firm Serbian head to withstand all that," Vucic said.

The President used the opportunity to highlight the work of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.

"People from the Office for Kosovo and Metohija work hard and fight for our people in Kosovo and Metohija. We never even talk about them, and they literally take care of every one of our families. That is why it is our job to take special care of Miljan Adzic and Srdjan Trajkovic and fight for them," he underlined.
Nedeljkovic said that he was a young man who had never been involved in politics and that he needed to thank the state, the president, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, and all the Serbian people who had been with him and his family since the first day.

"I don't hate anyone because I was accused, I just love and respect my country and my own," he underlined.
