Nikola Nedeljkovic (20) from Belgrade, who was arrested on Vidovdan at Gazimestan, after which he was sentenced to prison, has been released, the lawyer Jovana Filipovic confirmed for Kosovo online.
"I can only confirm to you that he has been released," Jovana Filipovic told us briefly and added that her client "has been banned from entering Kosovo for a year."
As a reminder, Nedeljkovic was arrested on June 28 at Gazimestan, and on September 6, he was sentenced to eight months in prison for allegedly "causing ethnic hatred and intolerance," after which he spent two months in custody.
Nedeljkovic allegedly shouted "kill, kill Shiptar", which was claimed by one witness - a police officer who took him into custody at the end of the Vidovdan celebration at Gazimestan.
At the beginning of December, the Court of Appeals in Pristina reduced Nedeljkovic's sentence.
