Vucic: No matter how great the pressure, Serbia will not recognize Kosovo
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today that Serbia will not recognize Kosovo, no matter how great the pressure may be.
„It is not just Germany, but many others as well. They want to see an independent Kosovo at all costs. They want to put as much pressure as possible on Serbia so that it recognizes Kosovo“, Vucic told reporters in response to a question about whether Serbia might face some threat from the region, given that Germany had donated a large sum of money to the Kosovo Security Force.
He stressed that this would not happen regardless of how great the pressure became, or how much they beat Serbs and remain silent about it.
Vucic pointed out that some had even fabricated a story that Serbs had fought among themselves and that this was how Raskovic sustained his injuries.
„There is no lie they will not resort to. That says enough about them. Their escape from reality speaks to their weakness“, Vucic stressed.
The president also announced that he would visit the injured Nenad Raskovic again today.
Asked to comment on the silence of the international community, as well as the opposition, regarding the beating of Raskovic, Vucic said that monstrous lies were coming from Pristina, while the silence of the international community was also monstrous.
„Terrible lies are coming from Pristina, monstrous lies. And the silence of the so-called international community is also monstrous. Can you imagine someone with a back like that reporting that he had been beaten by the Belgrade police or some other police force? Which front page of the world's media would that not make? But we Serbs are not people, we are pariahs and we have to do everything they demand of us, and then we will become people. We are people and we will not listen to you or serve you. We will protect our national interests“, Vucic stressed.
He also referred to what he described as a media campaign against him over his statement about the Ibar.
„Did you see the media campaign by some outlets when I mentioned the legitimate idea of the Bosniaks to build a reversible hydroelectric power plant on the Ibar? Every Serbian idea must be suppressed at its root. A Serb must not be a Serb, especially not in Kosovo and Metohija. You have to be Rasic's and Kurti's Serb. Your capital must not be Belgrade, but Pristina, Tirana, and Brussels. But the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija are not interested in Brussels, Tirana, or Pristina, only in Belgrade“, Vucic said.
