President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic stated today, during a visit to the construction site of a new bridge in Petrovaradin, that Serbia is not considering any kind of conflict, but instead wants to work and build.

When asked to comment on statements made by Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani that Serbia is attempting to destabilize the region, Vucic emphasized that he met today with representatives of the US State Department.

"As for Vjosa Osmani and her claim that we are preparing for conflict... This morning I had talks with the highest-ranking representatives of the State Department who are visiting Serbia, and I really don’t know what to tell you. I’m not a doctor, statements like that require people in white coats, not politicians issuing denials. Do you really think you can get away with something like that – that the Americans, Chinese, or others wouldn’t know what’s going on?" he said.

He added that Serbia is focused on its own affairs.

"We haven’t mobilized a single soldier, haven’t moved a single piece of equipment, nothing like that even crosses our minds. We want to work, to build. And those who keep talking about war must be feeling some kind of guilt, and I understand why they try to find someone else to blame. We don’t need to do that, we are focused on our work. I always only respond to what they say, and I’m never the one to make such statements first," Vucic emphasized.

As a reminder, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, during her visit to the US, stated twice that US President Donald Trump prevented the escalation of conflict between Kosovo and Serbia.
