Vucic: Pristina a threat to the UN order and to Serbia through terrorist acts

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today that Belgrade does not pose a threat, but that the authorities in Pristina do so by violating UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and international law, Novosti reports.

Vucic was commenting on a statement by Ejup Macedonci, Kosovo’s caretaker minister of defense, who said that “Serbia, through its Constitution, sees Kosovo as part of itself,” describing this as an “inevitable threat.”

“He is a man who is anything but stupid. They have simply turned things upside down. We are not the threat—they are the threat to the UN order, to the order established by UN Resolution 1244, to the entire system of modern international law, because they are seeking the secession of part of a territory in violation of international law. Therefore, they are the threat, as are those who support them in this, not us. Through terrorist acts, with the full support of NATO, when 19 countries brutally carried out aggression against the Republic of Serbia, they have already attempted to seize that territory, and that threat will continue to exist,” Vucic said.

He also accused Pristina of uniting with Zagreb and Tirana for that very reason, Novosti writes.

“That is why they have united with Zagreb and Tirana. That threat is becoming increasingly evident. We are doing everything to deter them from further attacks on our territory. And the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia is aligned with international public law norms, the UN Charter, and Resolution 1244,” Vucic added.
