Vucic: Tomorrow in Ohrid will be more difficult because of the ICC warrant for Putin's arrest
President Aleksandar Vucic said that because of the warrant issued by the International Criminal Court in The Hague for the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Serbia's position in Ohrid would be more difficult tomorrow and that because of this we would have to think even better about our every move in the future, RTV broadcasts.
"We will have to be responsible and serious. The West wants to put additional pressure on all those who have not been the harshest against Russia so far. It is quite certain that the world is sliding into an additional escalation of the conflict and an acceleration of the conflict," Vucic said in an address to the citizens, on Cira Milekic Square, as part of a visit to the Srem district.
Vucic said that certain things were happening in the world and that a great danger had loomed over our country, but that there were things that he could not speak about publicly, because he was not an analyst, but the president of the country.
As he said, the West had shown that it would go to the end and that it was not too worried about the possible escalation of the conflict.
Vucic said that both sides would play it all or nothing, that is, they would go all the way, and that the consequences in the world would be much more difficult for everyone.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said tonight that he was ready to say that we were not far from the outbreak of the Third World War and that our only task was to save Serbia.
He said at the political gathering in Sremska Mitrovica that we Serbs could go through the demographic, legal, and all other consequences and that the goal was to bring "our state and national ship" to a safe harbor and to avoid other people's conflicts and wars, and to save Serbia.
"That's our sacred task. You don't have to explain to me what emotions are, you think and feel that I'm heartless. It's my job to be heartless to keep the peace for our children and save the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. I'll stick to that,” Vucic said.
He said that throughout the history of Serbia, there were examples of bad behavior, irresponsible decisions, and times when the most responsible decisions had not been made because of emotions due to "five minutes of glory".
"Everything changed on February 24 last year, and today it turned upside down. There will be no concessions, both will play until destruction," Vucic said, alluding to the International Court of Justice's decision to issue an international warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
As he added, Serbia should be preserved and that was the only task.
"We have to preserve this small and beautiful country of ours, and let everyone curse me, we only have one country, Serbia, and we have to preserve it. When some say that one or the other will win, for us there is no victory, for us, the only salvation is not to participate in anything. You have to understand that this no longer makes sense and no matter what everyone says. The only thing in the world that does not exist is a rational approach to solving the problem, as (Noam) Chomsky used to say. It was as if no one would solve the problem, but wanted an even bigger one,” Vucic said.
He repeated that today there was a forbidden word peace and that everyone was talking about the defeat of the other side.
"I am not ashamed to say that we just want peace and to be left alone to live normally, not interfering, and not to lead us into new conflicts," Vucic said.
