The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said today that he hoped for a decent conversation in Ohrid and the possibility to move things along, adding that he was not going there with messages, because, as he stated, he had said everything he had had to the face of the Special Representatives for dialogue between the EU and the US Miroslav Lajcak and Garbiel Escobar, RTV reports.

"I am not traveling to Ohrid with messages, but representing the interests of the state of Serbia and our people in Kosovo and Metohija," Vucic said in Indjija, responding to a journalist's question to comment on the statement of the US Special Representative for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, that he believed in a positive outcome of the meeting in Ohrid, and with what messages he traveled to North Macedonia.

Vucic emphasized that he did not engage in tricks and messages, as some others did.

He added that he might now ask what had happened to that made-up plan that had been posted yesterday, all over social media.

"Lie as much as you want, I'm happy that I don't deal with it. Those tricks have a short life, I don't have any special messages, everything I had to say I told Miroslav Lajcak and Gabriel Escobar to their faces a day or two ago when they were in Belgrade," Vucic said.

He emphasized that tomorrow he would say that to the EU High Representative Josep Borrell and the Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti.

He added that he had been surprised when he had heard that there would be more than 200 media houses in Ohrid and stated that he did not know what people expected to happen.

"I hope for a decent conversation, and that we can move things along, and whether it will happen or not, I am not too optimistic. As for Serbia, Serbia is always ready to discuss compromise solutions, you know everything else, nothing has changed since parliamentary discussion and the conclusions we made," Vucic said during a tour of the Srem district.
