Director of the National Council of Albanians in the US, Martin Vujaj, warned that Kosovo risks sanctions from the United States if it does not improve cooperation and coordination with them, Gazeta Express reports.

Vulaj emphasizes that the visit of caretaker Prime Minister Albin Kurti to the US is a positive step, but notes the lack of meetings with representatives of the American administration.

“It is very good that we finally have a Prime Minister in Washington, since he has been absent for years. Even when he was there, there were no meetings with officials. Meetings with Congress are important, but the absence of meetings with the administration, which, together with America, decides on state policies, is concerning. Until now, official America has not met with Kurti, and that is not a good thing,” Vulaj said in the program Rubikon on Klan Kosova.

He warned that if the approach does not change, the consequences will be serious.

“As for sanctions, not only can they happen, but they will happen if we do not change our approach and improve the level of cooperation with the US. I believe this will be the beginning and that we are in uncharted waters. The harshest sanctions can definitely come,” Vulaj said.
