The Democratic People's Party (DNP) of Montenegro has submitted an initiative to convene a special session of the Pljevlja Municipal Assembly at which the municipality would also revoke the decision recognizing Kosovo.

In a statement, the Pljevlja Municipal Board of the Democratic People's Party said that the initiative had been signed by 19 councilors, constituting a majority in the municipal assembly.

"We have no doubt that this decision will also be adopted in Pljevlja during this month. Unfortunately, we are compelled to inform the public that, despite receiving the votes of many citizens who opposed and continue to oppose the most disgraceful decision of the DPS regime to recognize the so-called state of Kosovo, the councilors of the Europe Now Movement did not sign our initiative," the statement said.

Before Pljevlja, the Municipality of Zeta took the same step, becoming the first municipality to adopt a Declaration Revoking the Recognition of Kosovo's Independence within its territory on May 12.
