An Albanian grazes cattle at the Orthodox cemetery in Gracanica
The resident of Gracanica B.I. who this morning visited his mother's grave at the new Gracanica cemetery in Padaliste, had found a herd of cows and goats, which, according to him, had been taken out to pasture by an Albanian, most likely from the surrounding areas, the Medija Centar reports.
"I found a terrible sight, goats jumping on graves, cows too, grazing grass as if they were in a meadow. The cemetery is normally fenced off, but that Albanian most likely opened the gate for them to enter. When I asked him why he had let the cattle out there, he told me in Albanian that he had been going to throw them out. I left the cemetery so as not to cause an incident, because I was under a lot of stress," he told the Medija Centar.
He reported the case to the director of the Department of Public Services in the municipality of Gracanica, Vladica Trajkovic, who referred him to the Department of Inspection.
"Since today is Sunday, tomorrow I will report this to the inspectorate and the police," he said.
Burials at the new cemetery in Gracanica have been conducted for several years because there are no more vacant places at the old cemetery.
The plot of land for the new cemetery was provided by the municipality of Gracanica, which also provided funds for the arrangement of the cemetery and the construction of accompanying facilities.
