Suzana Aleksic, Director of the Preschool Institution "Danica Jaramaz" in North Mitrovica, says that life has become more difficult since the dinar was banned in Kosovo. She hopes that a solution for withdrawing salaries that are paid in dinars from the Serbian budget will be found in 2025.

The primary and most pressing issue, according to her, is that citizens, including employees of her institution, are unable to withdraw their wages and salaries.

"You receive your salary, but there is no way to withdraw it from ATMs or banks. Instead, you have to travel to Raska or the nearest town. This makes paying for goods, shopping, and obtaining supplies in the city a challenge. Entire families are suffering, and it is impossible to function normally. This issue needs to be resolved as soon as possible because living under these conditions is difficult," Aleksic told Kosovo Online.

She expressed genuine hope for a resolution this year.

"We receive our salaries in dinars, and a compromise should be reached. Our banks need to become operational again so that we can withdraw dinars from ATMs and pay in our stores as we used to," Aleksic concluded.
