Arlov distributes scholarships to 21 children from Kosovo at Jarinje: We love and defend Kosovo and Metohija through actions

Milorad Arlov, President of the Banja Luka-based Committee for Assistance to Kosovo and Metohija, distributed four-month scholarships today at Jarinje to 21 children from Kosovo, worth a total of 9,300 euros.

The funds were provided by donors and Telekom of the Republic of Srpska.

The Committee said this was the largest number of scholarship recipients in a single cycle since 2015. The scholarships cover the period from September to December this year.

The assistance is intended for children of single parents, children from large and low-income families, as well as children with developmental difficulties and sick children.

"We love and defend Kosovo and Metohija through actions, not words. Today at Jarinje, we are distributing 21 scholarships worth a total of 9,300 euros. We wanted to bring joy to the children and their families at the beginning of the school year," Arlov said.

He particularly highlighted a donor who has been providing scholarships to children from Kosovo for 11 years and who has contributed between 75,000 and 80,000 euros of his own money during that time.

"The humanitarian spirit of one person is tremendous, and others have joined him. I am glad that Telekom of the Republic of Srpska has also recognized our humanitarian mission," Arlov said.

He announced that humanitarian activities would continue throughout the autumn and until the end of the year, including assistance to children, young people, large families and the "Podrzi me – January 9" Day Center in North Mitrovica.

He recalled that the Committee has been assisting the population in Kosovo for 19 years, while around 10,000 children from Kosovo have visited the Republic of Srpska since 2012 through a project connecting children from Kosovo and the Republic of Srpska.

"I want these children, when they are in a position to do so one day, to help someone who needs assistance. May good deeds be repaid with good deeds," Arlov said.

Dalibor Vukovic, the father of 11 children from Zitkovac near Zvecan, thanked the donors, stressing that the assistance means a great deal to families, particularly at the beginning of the school year.

"The humanitarian heart of our brothers from the Republic of Srpska is enormous. There are few people today who think about others," Vukovic said.

Scholarship recipient David Igic from Kosovska Kamenica thanked Arlov and all the donors.

"Many thanks to him, and heartfelt thanks to all the donors," Igic said.

Stasa Miletic from Zvecan said that the assistance would mean a great deal to her family.
