Serbs protesting 18 days - new barricade set up near the Technical School in North Mitrovica
Serbs from northern Kosovo are at the barricades for the 18th day. A little over two weeks ago, the Serbs demanded the release of the arrested Dejan Pantic, Miljan Adzic, and Sladjana Trajkovic, as well as the withdrawal of special police forces from the north. This morning, a new roadblock was set up in Bosniak Mahala, near the Technical School.
The Serbs announced they would remove the barricades only when these demands were met.
Due to the arrest of Serbs and the presence of the Kosovo Police special forces in the North, Serbs from northern Kosovo have been and are still at the barricades for 18 days.
In the meantime, KFOR announced that it had started an investigation into the shooting in Zubin Potok, in which, as they said, there were no injuries or material damage, and they called for solutions to be sought through dialogue.
Yesterday was also marked by the return of Patriarch Porfirije from the Merdare administrative crossing, which prevented the Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch from going to the Patriarchate of Pec.
"As a patriarch, I went to the first and most important seat of my Church. As a priest, I went to be with my people on the eve of the most joyous holiday. As a citizen, I went to my house, to my home," the patriarch said, emphasizing that in that way, the door of his home was locked for him.
