Kosovo Online celebrates six years of operation: Objective information – our bridge to readers

The multimedia news portal Kosovo Online celebrates six years of existence today, during which time it has been recognized as a fast, reliable, and objective chronicler of events in Kosovo.

The wide range of media formats on our portal – news, reports, analyses, commentaries, opinion pieces, podcasts, caricatures, and full text, video, audio, and photo content – covers political, economic, social, cultural, sports, and all other topics from and related to Kosovo.

Since its inception, our portal has recorded 39,774,202 visits. A total of 151,100 news articles have been published, along with 18,533 multimedia posts. On our YouTube channel Kosovo Online, 21,442 videos have been published, with a total of 16,529,584 views.

The Kosovo Online Uzivo YouTube channel has published 2,884 video recordings and attracted 926,799 views. Our bilingual news YouTube channel in Albanian and Serbian – Vesti Lajmet recorded 325,240 views and has 1,030 videos. The Kosovo Online Live channel contains 1,497 videos, with a total of 1,844,527 views.

We realized long ago that it is not enough for us to know, understand, and see. We had to communicate our findings as convincingly as possible to audiences across the region. That is why video production became one of our priorities, as well as a valuable resource for many other media outlets in their reporting.

There hasn’t been a single significant event in Kosovo that escaped the eye of our cameras, from events that unsettled the public, to stories that moved audiences, to achievements we celebrated together, to exclusive analyses and commentaries.

Our now rich video archive contains invaluable footage from the field, first impressions, unexpected visits, and planned meetings. Thousands of statements, thoughts, and interpretations that helped us better understand daily life in Kosovo.

In addition to the standard content prepared daily by our correspondents across Kosovo, as well as from colleagues in North Macedonia, Albania, Brussels, and Vienna, we have recently enriched our offerings with new video formats like the weekly “KOmpilation” and Podcast series. Guests on the KOntext Podcast, each from their unique perspective, offered insights into life and outlooks in Kosovo.

Our news content is published in Serbian, English, and Albanian.

The newsroom is headquartered in Zvecan, with correspondent offices in Gracanica, Strpce, Leposavic, and Belgrade. Our correspondent network includes journalists in Skopje, Tirana, Vienna, and Brussels, as well as freelance contributors throughout Kosovo and the region.
