Little Jakov from Gotovusa received a watch - a gift from the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic

The first baby born in 2024 in Kosovo, little Jakov Jovanovic from the village of Gotovusa in the municipality of Strpce, received a gift today - a watch given to him by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.

The watch was presented to little Jakov and his family, father Borko and mother Kristina, by associates of President Vucic on the eve of the celebration of the Orthodox New Year.

Proud father Borko Jovanovic emphasized that he was happy and satisfied that his son had received a watch from the President and that Jakov would wear it when he grows up.

"We are very proud and happy that our Jakov received a gift from the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, whom we thank. This will be a keepsake from the President for Jakov, and he will wear the watch when he grows up. I also thank the representatives of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija who visited us on the Orthodox New Year's Eve; it means a lot to us, and we appreciate it", Jovanovic said.

In the delegation that visited the Jovanovic family today were representatives of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.

Assistant Director Milos Terzic wished Jakov to wear the watch in good health and to be a source of pride for his family and his people.

He emphasized that with this gift, the President of Serbia showed that he was wholeheartedly with every Serbian child in Kosovo.

"I am honored to be here in Strpce today, together with people from the office of President Aleksandar Vucic, to award the watch that President Vucic, as a gift received from Milos Zeman, dedicated to the first-born Serb in 2024 on Kosovo and Metohija. As our people would say, 'may Jakov wear it in good health, be a source of pride for his parents, the entire community, and our Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, who demonstrate their unwavering will to remain and endure on their ancestral hearths. I will remind you that the watch is a gift from Milos Zeman, the first president to apologize for the criminal aggression carried out by the NATO pact against the Serbs in 1999. Our task is to preserve and defend Serbian national interests and values, and we will do that. These children, including Jakov, will be a priority of our work and actions, and with this, above all, President Aleksandar Vucic shows and proves that he is wholeheartedly with every Serbian child in Kosovo and Metohija", Terzic said.

Collaborators of the President of Serbia and representatives of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija today also presented a gift to twelve-year-old Stefan Stojanovic from Gotovusa, who was wounded last year on Christmas Eve, along with Milos Stojanovic.
