Novakovic: Elektrosever offers discounted prices for consumers, we don't want to burden citizens
Slobodan Novakovic, the director of Elektrosever, stated that the company's goal is not to burden citizens, which is why the price of electricity is lower compared to the most favorable suppliers, both in Kosovo and in the region. Novakovic noted that Elektrosever has started billing for electric energy.
"We have started billing for electric energy in all municipalities in the northern part of Kosovo and Metohija as the new company Elektrosever. Billing is being done with difficulty for many reasons, and the main reason is that there are many technical details to be synchronized. We have had a minimum number of complaints about meters, only 50 consumers have complained so far, but the old database provided people with data that have changed since the last count. The database was created shortly after the war events, it was not updated because there was no payment for electric energy over a longer period," said Novakovic. He added that Elektrosever, in an effort to attract customers, has implemented "discounted prices".
"This means that we are five percent lower than the most favorable supplier in Kosovo, and we are also more favorable than all others in the region. We have also enabled 800 kilowatts of the so-called green tariff," he added.
He further stated that citizens can report any irregularities they discover on a daily basis.
"We are primarily a service for citizens, it is in our interest to attract people to sign contracts with us and to be satisfied with the supply of electric energy. We have complaint services where people can daily report their bills or any irregularities they discover, whether it is irregularities on the meter, incorrectly entered consumer names, knowing that there have been many migrations in the past 20 years. In other words, we are eager to help consumers, to meet their needs. It is enough just to acknowledge that someone is consuming electric energy in a certain facility, whether it is a household or a business facility, that will be the entry ticket for the database, or for the record as a consumer at Elektrosever," said Novakovic.
Elektrosever, as a company, he adds, will accommodate its consumers.
"Our aim is not to burden citizens with something they haven't consumed. Our goal is to help people, to be tolerant, and we also have an economic goal, to survive as a company that will provide supply services for the next 20 years and more. We will accommodate every justified request from consumers, if necessary, we will send people to the field to determine the real situation," he emphasized.
In the first phase, 5,000 meters in the north, suspected by consumers to be faulty, will be replaced, while in the second phase, Novakovic adds, all meters in Serbian municipalities in the north will be replaced.
"We have received a contingent of 5,000 smart meters to be used for installation for those who believe their meter is faulty, showing higher consumption than real, as well as for those consumers who have not had metering points until now. The next phase is the replacement of all meters, which we expect to happen during the year, by the end of summer. We will receive a donation from the EU of 20,000 new meters, so it is realistic to expect that every consumer in the north will have a smart meter," he added.
Regarding the February bills, Novakovic explained that there were two bills, one of which was a pre-bill, while the final one covered the real consumption of consumers.
"In February, we issued two bills, one is a pre-bill with an amount of 21.60 Euros, whether it is a household or large consumers. This bill is a kind of offer for those who want to enter into a contract with us because by paying this pre-bill, consumers would express their desire to be our customers. The final bill is based on real consumption, and there too, we aimed to accommodate consumers," Novakovic stated.
He appealed to consumers to save electricity and to use the green tariff, meaning cheaper electricity from 10 pm to 6 am.
"It should be emphasized that the cheapest electricity is from 10 pm to 6 am. All devices that consume more, such as washing machines, electric heaters, should be used during that period," Novakovic concluded.
