Two Serbian houses in the village of Batushe were targeted by thieves this evening, while last night the house of the Mitic family in Laplje Selo had been broken into and valuable jewelry and laptops had been taken from it, the Office for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

"Thus, the series of robberies and break-ins of Serbian homes that have become frequent in recent weeks has continued, and in this way, the message is not only being sent to the Serbs that they are not welcome, but their existence is also directly threatened," the statement said.

As it is added, at the entrance to the village of Batushe from the direction of Lepi, the house of Davor Delic was broken into tonight and ransacked while the family was celebrating in central Serbia.

We are talking about a family with three children, and this unpleasant incident brought unrest and fear not only to the house of Delic but also to their neighbors and other Serbs who live in this village, the Office points out.

According to the press release, the house of Sasa Lazic's family was also targeted by the thieves tonight, and luckily the thieves were distracted by their son Stefan, who came by at the moment when they tried to break the window to enter the house. They fled in the direction of the nearby Albanian village of Dobrevo.

The Office reminds that two Serbian houses were robbed last weekend - the families of Miric from Batushe and Nedeljkovic from Preoce.

"The series of robberies worried and disturbed the Serbs, and the fact that the thieves were not found in either of these cases brings additional unrest and revolt to the people. That is why the Office for Kosovo and Metohija demands that the attacks on the property of the Serbs be taken very seriously, that those responsible be prosecuted and adequately fined," the announcement states.
