Strpce: A contingent of medicines delivered to the Health Center

In the health center in Strpce, a shipment of medicines necessary for the normal functioning of this healthcare institution has arrived, Dr. Sasa Krsticic, the director of the Health Center, told Kosovo Online.

He hopes that after this delivery, the flow of medicines will be normal, which would facilitate the operation of the health center.

"After a long period, we received a shipment of medicines. These are medicines necessary for the normal functioning of the health center. We received larger quantities of infusion solutions, ampouled medicines, analgesics, antidiabetic drugs, some tablet medications for the treatment of asthma and diabetes, painkillers, some antibiotics, etc. After the vaccine delivery, this is the second shipment we have received in a shorter period. We hope that all the obstacles that have been present so far will be removed, that the flow of medicines will be normal, and that we will be able to function normally in the future," Krsticic said.

He also emphasizes that they have sufficient quantities of the seasonal flu vaccine and that it is not too late for patients to get vaccinated, even until the end of February.

"The interest is as high as in previous years. We also have sufficient quantities of vaccines for other needs, such as the regular vaccination of children. Regarding the seasonal flu vaccine, children from six months to sixty-five years old can be vaccinated. It is usually given to people with chronic diseases such as diabetics, asthmatics, obstructive patients, cardiovascular patients... The vaccine is polyvalent, protecting against a larger number of viruses, so there are practically no contraindications unless a person is allergic to vaccine components," Krsticic said.

The director of the Health Center points out that sudden weather changes recently led to an increased number of patients, especially children, with viral infections similar to the flu and that the current epidemiological situation is better.
