From tomorrow, there will be no classes in all schools in the north of Kosovo until the withdrawal of the Special Police

In all the schools in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, due to the presence of the Kosovo police in full military gear, teachers and students are unable to conduct classes in an undisturbed and safe manner, so for the reasons stated, and in the interest and safety of the students, classes are interrupted as long as the reasons stated and the policemen do not withdraw, according to the statement of the head of the School Administration for Kosovo and Metohija Ivan Zaporozac, which was delivered to our newsroom.

This decision, as stated, had been made after many received calls and messages to school principals and class teachers from parents expressing their concern and fear for the safety of their children, in schools in the immediate vicinity as well as in places where students go to school, there are policemen with rifles and in full war gear, as well as transporters at the school entrances.

The decision was made unanimously at today's meeting of directors of schools from the north of Kosovo with the head of the School Administration.

"In all schools in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, due to the presence of the so-called Kosovo police in full military gear, teachers and students are not able to conduct classes smoothly and safely, so for the above reasons, and all in the interest and safety of students, classes are interrupted until the stated reasons exist and the police officers do not withdraw. The parents will be informed by the class teachers when the students will return to the school desks again. In accordance with the Law on Basic Education Systems, Article 105, the decision has been forwarded to the competent authorities for approval," the statement which was signed by Zaporozac said.
