Among the eleven children in the Vukovic family, five are school-aged and will now receive 5,000 dinars each as a snack allowance, introduced as a government aid measure by the Serbian Government. For them and their parents, this support represents one less worry, making it easier to afford clothes, shoes, school supplies, and equipment.

The 13-member family recently moved from North Mitrovica to the village of Zitkovac near Zvecan, where they are building a home full of harmony and love.

As the head of the family, Dalibor Vukovic, explains, their days are filled with work and positive activities that strengthen their love and life together.

"My day begins with the sounds of my children and ends the same way. I am a happy man. God has blessed me with a large family—11 new worlds, people, and future families, God willing. I am content; we work hard and try our best. We live modestly and strive to build love and life through work and positive things. That is how our days begin and end," Dalibor said.

On their property, all the children have chores they enjoy.

"We are thrilled to live in Zitkovac; it suits us very well. Here, we can unlock all the potential we had hidden while living in the city. What is hardship? Of course, life comes with challenges and beautiful moments, and it is up to us to live, to rise and fall, and to get back up again," Vukovic shared.

Of the eleven children, five are currently of school age and receive the snack allowance. According to Vukovic, this government aid is invaluable to them.

"This is a wonderful gesture. What we need most is security and safety, so we are not victims of the arrogance of individuals and groups I won’t name now. This support is significant because every child going to school needs supplies, shoes, and clothing, which are very important to us," Dalibor admitted.

He also appealed to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Prime Minister Milos Vucevic, and the Serbian Government to focus on Kosovo and the Serbian people who have remained there and to help them grow in number.

"There are many things that could be done. This region of five villages is highly promising; there are intelligent people here, and with small-scale operations, ten people per unit could be employed, which would mean a lot for this area," Vukovic stated.

As part of the Serbian Government's aid package for Serbs in Kosovo, proposed by President Aleksandar Vucic, children in preschools and students in primary and secondary schools will receive 5,000 dinars per month as a snack allowance. According to the head of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, 17,559 children will benefit from this assistance.
