Telekom Serbia CEO Vladimir Lucic said today that the company would receive a license to operate as a mobile operator in the United States in mid-November and begin operating on the US market in December, RTV reported.

“Telekom Serbia will launch a mobile operator using the AT&T network in December this year. We had planned to do so in September, but the process has taken a little longer. The US market has a fairly strict licensing procedure. So, in mid-November, we will receive authorization to operate as a mobile operator there. Once we have completed that, together with the United States, Germany, and Turkey, we will cover 700 million people,” Lucic said.

Speaking on TV Prva, he stressed that this represented enormous potential for exporting digital services.

“But even for those major American players, this represents significant potential, because we can now become sales partners in a large number of markets. Through our companies, we cover 700 million people. That is why, once we develop this relationship in the field of artificial intelligence and have the opportunity to sell all these services across all those markets, the value of Telekom will rise significantly. Companies at the forefront of artificial intelligence development, as well as digital companies, are now worth an incredible amount, and Telekom Serbia is on the verge of achieving that as well,” Lucic said.
