He planned terrorist attacks in Pristina and against the Serbian police at Merdare; sentenced to three and a half years in prison
Blend Vrajolli has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison on charges of planning terrorist attacks in Pristina and at Merdare, Koha writes.
According to the indictment from the Special Prosecutor's Office filed last year, the 25-year-old had planned terrorist attacks on the LGBTI community in the capital square and at the Merdare border crossing.
The prosecution claimed that he had received maps and other messages for these attacks through applications such as Telegram and had intended to use a combination of calcium nitrate with other substances to make explosives.
He was arrested last year after traveling to Saudi Arabia when €2,500 was confiscated from him.
In statements to the prosecution, he absolved other individuals, with whom he communicated, of responsibility and blamed himself.
"The accused claims that thereafter he devised two plans: the first plan was to carry out a terrorist attack on Pristina Square against members of the LGBTI community, while the second plan was to carry out a terrorist attack at the Merdare border crossing against the Serbian police," the indictment states.
Vrajolli has been living in France in recent years, and reports from French authorities on findings during raids, as well as communication with incriminating content with other individuals, clearly indicate that the same person is prone to and inspired by radical Islamic ideology to manufacture bombs and carry out terrorist attacks.
