Attorney Dejan A. Vasic, defense counsel for Miomir Vakic, said that the acquittal of his client in the first-instance judgment brought justice, but added that he could not be satisfied with the Kosovo Court of Appeals' decision regarding Milun Milenkovic, Aleksandar Vlajic, and Dejan Pantic, given that Pantic's sentence was reduced from two years to one year in prison, while the appeals of Milenkovic and Vlajic were rejected.

Vasic said he believes the Supreme Court will correct what he described as the injustice done to his colleagues and their clients.

"In the part concerning the acquitted Miomir Vakic, this judgment has delivered justice. However, the part of the judgment concerning the convicted Milun Milenkovic, Aleksandar Vlajic, and Dejan Pantic does not leave me with any reason to celebrate my client's acquittal. I am more than convinced that the effort and work of my colleagues will bear fruit and that this serious injustice will be corrected before the Supreme Court," Vasic told Kosovo Online.

The Court of Appeals in Pristina announced yesterday that it had reduced the sentence of former police officer Dejan Pantic from two years to one year in prison, while rejecting the appeals of Milun Milenkovic and Aleksandar Vlajic, who were convicted in the first-instance judgment for the 2022 attack on the Municipal Election Commission offices in North Mitrovica. Miomir Vakic was also charged in the same case, but he was acquitted in the first-instance judgment.

Attorney Ljubomir Pantovic, defense counsel for former police officer Dejan Pantic, told Kosovo Online yesterday that he was partially satisfied with the Court of Appeals' decision and announced that he would file a request for the protection of legality.
