CEC: Highest voter turnout by 1 p.m. recorded in northern Kosovo

The municipalities in northern Kosovo are leading in voter turnout in the local elections. By 1 p.m., the highest participation was recorded in Zvecan, Zubin Potok, and North Mitrovica.

The highest voter turnout in today’s local elections in Kosovo, in Serb-majority areas, was recorded by 11 a.m. in Zvecan – 38.17%, Zubin Potok – 37.10%, and North Mitrovica – 27.81%, according to data published on the website of the Central Election Commission (CEC) in Pristina.

According to the same data, turnout in Leposavic stands at 16.62%, though only 7 out of 25 polling stations have been processed so far.

Voter turnout in Strpce is 24.39%, in Gracanica 23.82%, in Kosovo Polje 18.12%, in Obilic  20.93%, in Novo Brdo 31.55%, in Ranilug 36.04%, and in Partes 24.15%.

By 1 p.m., a total of 16.37% of registered voters had cast their ballots.

As reported to Kosovo Online from Zubin Potok, crowds were observed at the “Jovan Cvijic” Elementary School polling center since it opened, though voting has been proceeding smoothly without major delays.

Around noon, voter arrivals at polling stations became noticeably more frequent.

In the municipality of Zubin Potok, there are 6,527 registered voters. In addition to the “Jovan Cvijic” Elementary School polling center, voters can also cast their ballots at the “Petar Kocic” Elementary School in the villages of Bube, Lucka Reka, and Brnjak, as well as at the “Blagoje Radic” Elementary School in Zupce.

Voting is also taking place in Cabra, at the “Osmani Rama” Elementary School and at the local Health Center in the village of Oklace, while in Cecevo, voting is being conducted in two mobile containers.
