Regional coordinator of “Democracy in Action” for four municipalities in northern Kosovo, Dusan Radakovic, stated that most polling stations in that part of Kosovo opened on time, while two polling stations in Leposavic did not begin operating at 7 a.m. due to technical issues. At the same time, he appealed to the Central Election Commission (CEC) to ensure conditions for media coverage of the elections.

“Two polling stations in Leposavic did not open at 7 a.m. for technical reasons, but that issue was quickly resolved,” Radakovic said.

He added that one member of the mobile voting team in Leposavic also failed to appear, and a replacement is being awaited.

Radakovic appealed to the Central Election Commission to provide conditions for journalists to follow the election process.

“If the process is transparent, why are we hiding it? It’s a disgrace and a shame that we are still talking about the same problems, and, on top of that, that journalists are being prevented from doing their job in 2025,” Radakovic said.

Despite yesterday’s decision by the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel (ECAP) to accept the appeal filed by VIM INFO, the founder of the Kosovo Online portal, and annul the decision of the Central Election Commission that denied accreditation to our reporters for covering today’s local elections, the CEC has still not reconsidered the accreditation of our outlet.
