CIK did not accredit the portal Kosovo Online to cover the second round of local elections
The Central Election Commission (CIK) today, at its regular session, approved accreditations for observers from political entities, organizations, and media outlets for the second round of local elections. However, the portal Kosovo Online was once again not included on the list of accredited media.
The company VIM INFO, the founder of the Kosovo Online portal, duly submitted a request to the Central Election Commission to monitor the second round of local elections scheduled for November 9, 2025. However, according to the CIK’s statement from today’s session, our media outlet was not accredited.
In addition to political entity observers, the CIK accredited 32 local and international media outlets at today’s session. Among the accredited media reporting in Serbian are: Gračanica Online, Radio Kim, TV Herc, and RTV Puls.
It should be recalled that for the first round of local elections, the CIK initially did not accredit any media reporting in the Serbian language, but later reversed that decision and allowed them to cover the elections — with the exception of the Kosovo Online portal.
At that time, VIM INFO filed an appeal to the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel, which annulled the CIK’s decision and ordered the accreditation of our portal. Nevertheless, Kosovo Online has remained the only Serbian-language media outlet that is not allowed to report from the elections.
