The Serb Party of Kosovo, led by Aleksandar Jablanovic, had its list certified by the Central Election Commission (CEC) for the upcoming elections, although this party, like the Serb List which was not certified by the CEC, refers to Kosovo as "Kosovo and Metohija," reports Gazeta Ekspres.

The Self-Determination Movement celebrated as their success the fact that the Serb List was not certified, against which two representatives of this Movement voted, while representatives of the opposition parties did not vote.

In the reasoning for voting against certifying the Serb List, Sami Kurteshi and Alban Krasniqi, two representatives of the Self-Determination in the CEC, noted that this party "calls Kosovo 'Kosovo and Metohija'".

"They never mention 'Republic of Kosovo', but 'Kosovo and Metohija'. They do not say 'long live Kosovo' but 'long live Serbia'. Representatives of that list maintain contact with Vucic's government, where Radoicic is also seen, where they have connections to the terrorist attack in Banjska, and recently also in the Ibar-Lepenac canal," Kurteshi said.

However, the Serb Party of Kosovo, headed by Aleksandar Jablanovic, who in statements published on social networks, also calls Kosovo 'Kosova and Metohija', easily passed the CEC and received certification for the next elections.

Furthermore, Jablanovic, as the Minister for Communities and Returns in 2015, called the mothers from Djakovic "savages" following protests they lodged against Serbian pilgrims visiting the church for Orthodox Christmas.

This statement also triggered protests, alongside massive public reaction, and Albin Kurti, the head of the Self-Determination Movement and current Prime Minister, supported these protests and even set an ultimatum for Isa Mustafa to dismiss him from the minister's position within 48 hours.

The protests forced the government to resign, and Jablanovic was dismissed from his duties, and now the support of Self-Determination for certifying his party has raised questions about the consistency of Self-Determination's positions, reports Demokracija.

The Serb List has the right to appeal this decision since the Office for the Registration of Political Parties had earlier confirmed that this list meets all criteria.

The Office for the Registration of Political Parties is the body that assesses whether a party meets the criteria for participation in elections and sends recommendations to the CEC.

Political experts assess that the non-certification of the Serb List is part of the pre-election campaign of the ruling party in Kosovo.
