In all municipalities where the vote recounting process has been completed, the collection of information on abuses in the electoral process will begin, the Office of the Chief Prosecutor of Kosovo announced.

They stated that the prosecution has continuously monitored the vote recounting process from outside.

“After recording discrepancies in the number of votes during the counting within political entities for parliamentary candidates in various regions of the Republic of Kosovo, the National Elections Coordinator, Prosecutor Laura Pula, requested that chief prosecutors of all basic prosecution offices begin collecting the necessary information in all municipalities where the vote recounting process has been completed and submit relevant evidence confirming the commission of any criminal offense related to the electoral process,” the statement said.

It added that Pula also requested that in municipalities where the vote recounting process has not yet been completed, the competent prosecution offices begin the process of collecting the necessary evidence immediately after its completion.

“The State Prosecutor will remain committed to protecting the free will of voters and will investigate every case for which there is suspicion that votes were abused or falsified in any way and by anyone,” the Prosecution concluded.
