Serbs in Kosovo are kept safe by faith, prayer, and faith will save Kosovo," said renowned Serbian actor Petar Bozovic in a recent episode of the podcast "Kontekst." Bozovic recently spent several days with Serbs in villages in Metohija, in Gracanica and Prizren, and he carried strong impressions from the experience.

"It seems to me that it's harder for me to talk about Kosovo now than to be there with them. One thing is crucial, and that is their gratitude that you came. You came to us. Someone from our own came to us. The gratitude of our people, especially children, they gave me drawings and wrote me songs. Every time I read them, I cry. I'll read them to you. It's especially noticeable with the girls. They've skipped childhood. By the age of 10, they're already mature women. They don't have the luxury of youth and childhood. That's been taken away from them," said Bozovic.

He urges everyone to go and see for themselves how difficult the Serbs are living in Kosovo today.

"We don't know, first of all, how Serbs live in Kosovo. The story that we know they live difficult lives there is worn out. To know means to feel, and you can't feel it until you go and see," he emphasized.

On the way to Pristina, he adds, you can see the absence of perspective for the Albanian people.

"You see one unregulated settlement that sprouted up, house next to house. You see that money has been spent there, that someone poured it. And that it, those funds, were wasted because half of those houses have closed shutters. Doors, locked. And you look at the same impoverished Albanian people. So now, upon receiving the first visas, over 150 000 have left. Who will live there? How will they? They think they have a future, but if the Americans pull out like in Afghanistan and leave evil sown. You understand, I'm speaking generally about Kosovo. Our Patriarch called on the Albanians to wake up, to see that we live together," Bozovic pointed out.

He reluctantly speaks on political topics and is disappointed with Europe's behavior.

"I mean, from that mockery, whatever they sign, they achieve nothing. They've disgusted us with Europe, which used to be our role model. I remember before, when we traveled with theatre Atelje 212 around the world, I was only waiting to come to Europe. To Europe. And then to Belgrade, a European city of culture. Who leads Europe today? Primarily, they are not elected by the people; they are elected by big companies. That's what they call the deep state. We don't matter to them, fundamentally. They talk about progress, technology, but it's progress horizontally. What about vertically? On a spiritual level. That's being destroyed. Half of Europe has abandoned Christianity, or resorted to various selfish forms. And that's where conflicts arise; you see there's a war against Orthodoxy, openly, from all sides. They will leave, but not tomorrow or the day after. We don't matter to them, fundamentally. That's the thing, if we mattered to them, maybe they would take us seriously. As it is, it's a bit forced, as long as it lasts," Bozovic emphasized, among other things.
