Ahmeti: Kosovo will accept the CSM, there is no way to avoid it without consequences
Former Pristina Mayor Shpend Ahmeti said that there was no doubt that Kosovo would accept the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities. According to him, there is no way to avoid it without consequences, Gazeta Express reports.
"When I say Kosovo, I mean the government," Ahmeti said and added that in that situation, Kosovo had to save what it could.
He stated that if the government wanted to prevent the Community formation permanently, it should have sent it to the Assembly "to demolish it".
"If you want to destroy the Community completely, you have to send it to the Assembly where it was ratified by two-thirds of the votes," Ahmeti said.
He suggested that the government should deal with the favorable aspects of the Franco-German proposal instead of wasting time opposing the Community. According to him, the offered agreement is a kind of de facto recognition by Serbia.
Ahmeti also believes that Prime Minister Albin Kurti deals with the issue of Kosovo and Serbia all the time. He criticized his supporters who supported him even when he was wrong.
"If there is something that Kurti deals with 24 hours a day, it is the issue of Serbia. Nobody ever says 'sorry we made a mistake here'. Nobody is infallible. They try to present Kurti as sinless," he noted.
