Andjelkovic: PAK intrusion a continuation of pressure on Serbs and theft of Post of Serbia property
Zoran Andjelkovic, acting director of the Post of Serbia, described today’s intrusion by the Privatization Agency of Kosovo (PAK) and the seizure of inventory from a branch in North Mitrovica as a continuation of pressure on Serbs and theft of Post of Serbia property.
“After the closure of Serbia Post offices, the expulsion of Serbs, the introduction of apartheid in northern Kosovo, daily arrests, and even the detention of a school principal for possessing a seal, they have now practically begun stealing Serbia Post property,” Andjelkovic told Kosovo Online.
He added that Kosovo Police had sent them a request to vacate the premises a week ago.
“How are we supposed to vacate our premises? By ‘our premises,’ I mean our property. We lease them from Trepca, and no one has terminated our lease, except for informing us they would confiscate our property. Today, they started doing just that. I spoke with the head of our unit in Pristina and made it clear that we would not vacate our premises or remove the equipment and property inside. If they believe they can loot, let them continue, but we will fight back through other means,” Andjelkovic emphasized.
He also noted that they had informed all international institutions about today’s incident.
“We have notified the World Postal Union and PostEurop about the intrusion into Serbia Post offices, the ban on their operations, and the arrests of all post managers. Not only have we informed them, but I also personally discussed the matter with the director general of PostEurop. A month ago, the General Assembly of PostEurop was held here, and I addressed over 100 participating countries about the violence being carried out by Kurti’s regime in Kosovo and Metohija. Unfortunately, there was no reaction, and I don’t expect any significant response to this latest rampage by Kurti’s regime. However, we will not give up. We will continue our work and support for our people in Kosovo and Metohija. That is what we have been doing over the past few months since they shut down Serbia Post offices. We are still ensuring that people receive their salaries, pensions, and letters in the ways available to us,” Andjelkovic concluded.
