Antonijevic: The decision to return the memorial plaque is a kind of apology to the Serbian community

The revocation of the decision by the French Ambassador in Pristina and France's effort to return the memorial plaque to Serbian soldiers represent a kind of apology to the Serbian community affected by this decision, lawyer Milan Antonijevic says for Kosovo Online.

He believes that this puts an end to the entire case, and Serbia should be satisfied this time.

"I think it's too harsh to talk about recalling the ambassador, and Serbia can be satisfied this time when we have a situation that is resolved in this way. It means there was a petition that was signed, and many appeals that were sent to Paris and the Embassy in Pristina, which obviously yielded results. I think this was an ill-considered move by the French Ambassador in Pristina, and this puts an end to it", Antonijevic emphasizes.

He states that it is important that we have the ability to achieve our interests through diplomatic pressure and that everything that disrupts good relations between Serbia and France with such initiatives can be removed as an obstacle.

"That we can once again say that the Serbian-French friendship, which has lasted so long, for more than a century, is something worth preserving, and we prove it in this way", Antonijevic concludes.
