Political analyst Alon Ben Meir has assessed that Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti is increasingly being described as an "impatient nationalist" and has stated that actions in the north, without coordination with the EU, do not contribute to strengthening Kosovo's independence but instead produce negative effects, reports Front Online.

"Kurti, who is increasingly described as a nationalist, seems to be showing impatience in his attempts to assert Kosovo's independence, especially in the Serb-majority north," Ben Meir said to Albanian Post.

He added that all actions in the north must be coordinated with the EU.

"Given the prevailing circumstances, any action Kurti takes, no matter how justified, must be coordinated with the EU because it can create a negative effect. This does not suggest that Kurti does not have the right to take such action. Coordination with the EU is necessary," Ben Meir stated.

He further added that "Kurti's ongoing efforts to assert state sovereignty over the Serb-majority municipalities in the north are not strengthening Kosovo's independence."

Therefore, he stressed that more focus should be placed on Kosovo's integration process into the European Union.
