Bozic: The Kosovo issue has been brought back to multilateral organizations; everyone understands the difficult position of the Serbs
Serbia has managed to bring the Kosovo issue 'to the table' of all multilateral organizations, and everyone is beginning to understand the true situation in Kosovo, the policies pursued by Albin Kurti, and the difficult situation in which the Serbs find themselves Sandra Bozic, the Head of the Permanent Delegation of the Serbian Assembly to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, stated today.
Bozic leads the delegation, which includes MPs Danijela Vujicic and Milimir Vujadinovic, participating in the Winter Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Vienna.
"These are always good opportunities for us to continue our diplomatic offensive outside the official part, to talk to everyone who wants to hear the truth. For Serbia, the number 1 issue is Kosovo and Metohija, and we have truly encountered an understanding of the situation in which Serbia finds itself due to the pressures of unilateral acts by Albin Kurti, which are causing a silent exodus in the territory of our southern province," Bozic said for Kosovo Online.
She pointed out that the diplomatic offensive, "led" by President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, had had a serious impact, especially considering the session of the United Nations Security Council.
She conveyed that parliamentarians and colleagues from other parliaments had listened well and had heard Vucic's address to the UN Security Council, which she concluded from official bilateral meetings as well as informal conversations with them.
"People are only now beginning to understand the true situation in Kosovo and Metohija, the policy pursued by Kurti, and how difficult the situation is for the Serbs," Bozic emphasized.
According to her, the issue of Kosovo has been brought back into the OSCE, from where it was completely eliminated at one point, except when the Serbian delegation initiated a debate.
"The geopolitical situation and the war in Ukraine are primary there, as in any multilateral organization, but we have brought the Kosovo issue to the table of every multilateral organization, primarily thanks to President Vucic, who managed to show the real situation on the ground at the UN Security Council session, and the whole world heard it," Bozic said.
During the session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, she addressed the joint meeting of the General Committees attended by more than 300 parliamentarians from 57 member states. She spoke within agenda item 3, which presented the report of the Observation Mission on the elections in Serbia.
Bozic pointed out that much of what was stated in the report was largely based on speculation and conjecture, which could also be heard from some representatives of the European Parliament.
"This is orchestrated manipulation, originating from those who are not only opposition to the government but also to the state, which is not good for any country. We had the opportunity to address this; we presented the truth – that the elections were never cleaner, with the highest number of observers who had no complaints in their reports. We are all aware that this is a game that will have to come to an end," Bozic said.
She noted that some recognized the manipulation, and as election observers in Serbia, they were aware that certain facts were being distorted and did not correspond to what had happened on the ground.
"We heard many good comments. I am pleased that representatives of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Slovenia, who participated in the Observation Mission, stated that the elections had been technically well conducted, legal, and legitimate, and they were satisfied with what they had been on the ground, without any irregularities. There is great support from friendly countries. It was nice to hear that the elections were legal and legitimate. I hope that this opposition charade will end for the benefit of the citizens," Bozic said.
She emphasized that pressure on Serbia and Aleksandar Vucic was also felt in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, given the geopolitical situation.
