Burjani: Japan has good cooperation with both Kosovo and Serbia, neutral in the dialogue process
Law professor and political analyst Blerim Burjani told Kosovo Online that Japan has good cooperation with both Kosovo and Serbia, while remaining neutral in the dialogue process taking place under the auspices of the EU.
“Japan is a country that has good cooperation with both Kosovo and Serbia, it is neutral regarding the dialogue between the two states, but it supports the EU and the US. As for Kosovo, the cooperation is excellent. So, the country is close to Kosovo, it has recognized independence, but it also wants good relations with Serbia,” Burjani stated.
He emphasizes that Japan supports Kosovo’s membership in international organizations, but at the same time wants to remain neutral when it comes to the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.
“Japan is a country that supports Kosovo’s membership in international organizations, helps Kosovo in the economy, culture, and education. That country has not been very engaged in the climate between Kosovo and Serbia. If we analyze it, Japan has left the issue of dialogue to the US and the European Union,” Burjani stressed.
