The chief prosecutor not informed about the "assassination attempt" on Kurti

The chief prosecutor in Kosovo was not informed about the alleged "assassination attempt" on Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti while he was in Skopje, Koha reports.

The Kosovo Public Service RTK announced today that an assassination attempt was planned against the Prime Minister of Kosovo while he was in Skopje.

However, the Acting Chief Prosecutor of Kosovo, Besim Kelmendi, as well as the Chief Prosecutor of the Special Prosecutor's Office of Kosovo, were not informed about this claim about the alleged attempt to kill Kurti.

"There is currently no action in our office regarding this news," said Besim Kelmendi.

"No, I don't have any information," said the chief prosecutor of the Special Prosecutor's Office, Blerim Isufaj.

Based on the Code of Criminal Procedure and applicable laws, every law enforcement institution in Kosovo, including the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA) and the Kosovo Police, has an obligation to immediately and without delay inform the prosecution if leaders are exposed to threats or suspicions that endanger their lives, Koha reminds.

Officially, Skopje previously denied the assassination attempt on the Kosovo Prime Minister.
