Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric said that Hamas’s attack on Israel three years ago at a music festival was an attack on Jewish people everywhere.

“Three years later, I still think of the innocent civilians murdered and abducted in Hamas’s terrorist attack on October 7—families in their homes, young people at the Nova music festival, and children whose lives were changed forever. It was an attack on Israel, but also on Jewish people everywhere,” Djuric wrote on the social network “X”.

He recalled that Serbia stood with Israel from the first moments.

“As a Serbian, a father, and the grandson of an Auschwitz survivor, I feel this pain deeply. May their memory be a blessing. We must never allow terrorism or hatred to prevail,” Djuric concluded.

Today, Israel is marking three years since the surprise mass attack carried out by the Palestinian militant group Hamas on October 7, 2023, in which more than 1,000 citizens of Israel and other countries were killed, the majority of them civilians.

A total of 378 people were killed at the Nova music festival, while 44 people were taken hostage to Gaza, including Serbian citizen Alon Ohel, who was held captive in Gaza for more than two years after the attack. He was released in October last year.
