Demolition of six buildings began in Rezala village on Lake Gazivode, Holy Trinity hall demolished

Demolition of buildings began this morning in the village of Rezala, located on Lake Gazivode within the Municipality of Zubin Potok. The deadline for their removal, set by the public company Ibar-Lepenac, expired at the end of August. The Holy Trinity hall, which was used for gatherings during the village patron saint's day, has already been demolished.

As Veton Elshani, deputy commander of the Kosovo Police for the North region, confirmed to Kosovo Online, six buildings are being demolished.

"I can confirm that the demolition of six buildings in the territory of Rezala village in the Municipality of Zubin Potok began this morning. According to the information we have, the owners of these buildings had previously removed the items that were inside them. The Kosovo Police is only providing assistance," Elshani emphasized.

The Holy Trinity hall in Rezala has already been demolished. Local residents built the hall themselves, and for nearly two decades they have gathered there to celebrate the village patron saint's day.

As Kosovo Online reporters report, the Kosovo Police has blocked the road in the village of Kovaci leading to Rezala.

Journalists are not being allowed through, while Kosovo Police officers are securing access to the area where the demolition is taking place.

The Kosovo Police confirmed that its officers are assisting the Ministry of Spatial Planning in connection with what it described as activities being carried out in Rezala.
