Demolition of vacation homes begins in Medjedji Potok on Lake Gazivode

This morning, the demolition of seven vacation homes began in the village of Medjedji Potok, on the shores of Lake Gazivode in the municipality of Zubin Potok. Their owners had until the end of August to remove the structures themselves.
As reported by a Kosovo Online reporter, heavy machinery is at the site, while access to the area where the structures are being demolished has been marked with yellow tape, preventing people from getting closer to the vacation homes.
The owners of these vacation homes previously told Kosovo Online that they had built and maintained the structures for years, while they viewed the decisions to remove them as the loss of family places for holidays and leisure.
Last week, vacation homes and the Holy Trinity Hall were demolished in the village of Rezala on Lake Gazivode. The hall was used for gatherings during the village's patron saint's day.
