Disclaimers on freedom of movement for all vehicles from Kosovo have been posted at the administrative crossings
At all administrative crossings of Kosovo and Serbia, disclaimers have been placed tonight stating that freedom of movement is enabled for all vehicles from the territory of Kosovo, which is implemented exclusively for practical reasons and does not in any way mean recognition of Kosovo.
The disclaimers clearly state:
"Allowing all vehicles registered by the Provisional Institutions of Self-Government in Pristina to participate in traffic on the roads is done solely for practical reasons in order to facilitate the position of individuals and enable their freedom of movement and cannot be interpreted as recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of "Kosovo", it does not prejudice determination of the final status of "Kosovo" and cannot be interpreted as Belgrade's consent to deviate from the rights guaranteed by United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244(1999)".
The decision on the free movement of all vehicles from the territory of Kosovo begins to be applied from tomorrow, January 1.
Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, said a few days ago that freedom of movement for all vehicles from Kosovo is an obligation of Serbia from the 2011 agreement on freedom of movement.
