Djuric with Holstein on further strengthening Serbia-Germany relations

Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric met today with Germany's new Ambassador to Belgrade, Anke Holstein, to discuss the further advancement of bilateral relations and the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.

Djuric assessed that bilateral relations between Serbia and Germany were good and that there was mutual willingness to further enhance them, both politically and economically.

He stressed that membership in the European Union remained Serbia's strategic commitment and one of its foreign policy priorities, alongside its continued commitment to implementing the reforms necessary for progress on the European path.

Speaking about regional cooperation, Djuric emphasized that Serbia remained firmly committed to preserving regional stability, developing good-neighborly relations, and strengthening economic and infrastructure connectivity, noting that Germany was an important partner for Serbia in these efforts.

Regarding economic relations, he pointed out that cooperation between the two countries continued to develop dynamically year after year, as evidenced by the steady inflow of investment by German companies in Serbia, particularly in sectors important for the country's further economic growth and development, according to a statement from the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Djuric stressed that economic reforms and the creation of a favorable business environment were important for ensuring sustainable growth and attracting new investment, recalling that, thanks to the reforms implemented and a responsible economic policy, Serbia had more than doubled its gross domestic product over the past ten years.

The Minister wished Ambassador Holstein every success in her new post, expressing confidence that open and constructive dialogue would continue during her tenure and that cooperation between Serbia and Germany would be further strengthened in areas of mutual interest.
