Djuric meets Foreign Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines: Commitment to the UN Charter unites us
Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric stated today, during talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Dwight Fitzgerald Bramble, that, in addition to enjoying good and friendly relations, the two countries are also bound by their commitment to the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations. He expressed gratitude for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’ support on Serbia’s most important national issues‚.
Meeting on the sidelines of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States in Panama, Minister Djuric emphasized Serbia’s interest in intensifying political dialogue and facilitating high-level visits, extending an invitation to Minister Bramble to visit Serbia.
He also pointed to the potential for enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of education through the “World in Serbia” scholarship programme, inviting young people from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to apply for studies in Serbia, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Minister Djuric welcomed the decision of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to participate in Specialised Expo 2027, stressing that Serbia would be honoured to host the delegation of this friendly country and provide an opportunity to showcase its potential.
The two ministers also discussed strengthening cooperation within the regional organisations of Latin America and the Caribbean, with a view to further enhancing ties between Serbia and these geographically distant, yet friendly, countries.
Two Agreements Signed Between Serbia and Panama
Minister Djuric also met with Panama’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Javier Eduardo Martínez-Acha Vásquez. During their meeting, the two foreign ministers signed two documents: the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Panama on the Mutual Abolition of Visa Requirements for Holders of Diplomatic, Consular and Official Passports, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding on Academic Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Panama.
The two sides jointly noted that these agreements, together with the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries, have opened the door to even more fruitful cooperation and stronger ties between the two ministries and the peoples of Serbia and Panama.
Minister Djuric invited Panama to participate in Specialised Expo 2027 in Belgrade, emphasizing that its presence would provide a strong impetus to the further development of bilateral cooperation and offer an opportunity to present the country’s rich cultural, tourism and economic potential at this prestigious event.
He congratulated the hosts and his Panamanian counterpart on the successful organisation of the meetings of the Association of Caribbean States and the Organization of American States, noting that Serbia’s participation clearly demonstrates its commitment to continuing the positive practice of engagement at such forums.
Minister Djuric reiterated that Serbia stands ready to further advance bilateral cooperation with Panama and intensify high-level political dialogue, which would significantly contribute to that objective. On this occasion, he extended an invitation to the Panamanian foreign minister to pay an official visit to Serbia in the coming period.
