Djuric: New impetus for cooperation between Serbia and Fiji

Serbia's acting Foreign Minister Marko Djuric met with Fiji's Foreign Minister Sakiasi Ditoka in New York, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, to discuss improving relations and cooperation, assessing that high-level and top-level visits would significantly contribute to better mutual understanding and provide additional impetus to strengthening ties between the two countries.

A statement from the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Djuric used the opportunity to invite his counterpart to visit Belgrade.

Djuric particularly highlighted the importance of cooperation in the field of information technology, stating that Serbia is ready to support digital transformation, particularly through the transfer of knowledge in the field of e-government, as well as artificial intelligence.

They also discussed cooperation within the “World in Serbia” program, which has for years served as an important bridge between Serbia and numerous countries, providing young people with the opportunity to study at universities in Serbia with the support of scholarships from the Serbian government.

The interlocutors expressed satisfaction that Fiji will participate in Expo 2027, which will be an opportunity for the country to present itself to visitors from around the world.
