Djuric to Sørensen: Belgrade remains committed to dialogue with Pristina, Community of Serb-majority Municipalities remains a priority

Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric told Peter Sørensen, the European Union Special Representative for the Belgrade–Pristina Dialogue, during talks held today that Belgrade remains committed to the dialogue with Pristina, expressing hope that conditions for its resumption will soon be met. He also stressed that the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities (CSM) remains a priority.

During their meeting in Brussels, Djuric and Sørensen discussed the situation in Kosovo and developments in the wider region.

The Serbian foreign minister reaffirmed Belgrade's clear commitment to the dialogue with Pristina and expressed hope that conditions would soon allow for the resumption of the high-level dialogue, despite the prolonged political instability in Pristina, the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

Djuric stated that the continuation of the dialogue should focus, above all, on the full implementation of the agreements already reached, recalling that the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities has yet to be established due to Pristina's obstruction and its failure to fulfil this obligation under the Brussels Agreement.

He underlined Serbia's unequivocal position that the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities remains a priority and the key framework for strengthening the institutional capacities of the Serbian community and safeguarding its collective rights in Kosovo.

The minister reiterated that Belgrade remains a constructive partner in the dialogue, the statement added.
