The Minister of Interior Affairs of Serbia, Bratislav Gasic, pointed out that it would be very important for the security of the Serbian population in Kosovo, as well as for the control of the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings, to enable the return of part of the Serbian forces under Resolution 1244.

In an interview with Blic, Gasic points out that he is sure that this would lead to a drastic reduction in tensions.

"I believe that it would be very important for the security of the Serbian population, as well as for the control of the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings. I am sure that it would lead to a drastic reduction in tensions. The President of the Republic of Serbia and the entire state leadership are doing and will do everything to preserve peace and stability in our country, but if anyone tries to threaten the safety of our citizens and the stability and sovereignty of our country, be sure that the members of the Ministry of Interior Affairs show extremely high morale, courage, pride and desire to stand up for the defense of their homeland and their compatriots. I see it every day in through their eyes, that brave urge to preserve and nurture Serbian history and tradition, to ensure the security of today, and to ensure the future of the Serbian race. I am proud that Serbia relies on such professionals and I can only tell the citizens that they are safe and secure with the members of the Ministry of Interior Affairs," says Gasic.

He emphasized that "we have a lot of work ahead of us".

"I have to say that we are tireless when we make plans, but also when we implement them. Upon arriving at the position of the Minister of Interior Affairs, I first saw the needs that are necessary for demanding and efficient work. You know, in order to get full results, you must provide the conditions so that police be even more efficient, and the safety of citizens be raised to an even higher level. Thus, one of the priorities, in the technical part, is the provision of state-of-the-art equipment and the improvement of working conditions. Of course, we are working intensively on the continuous improvement of the financial position and standards of the members of the Ministry of Interior Affairs. We will intensify international cooperation, in order to acquire new knowledge and skills through the exchange of experiences and additional training. As for the operational part, I will insist on an even more effective fight against all types of crime, especially organized crime, as well as an even stronger, more determined and uncompromising fight. We have started the procedure for restarting the Interior Affairs High School, which is necessary for the systematic and continuous education of future police officers. I am convinced that this will significantly affect the strengthening of professionalism and efficiency in the work of the MInistry of Interior Affairs, but I am also convinced that it will be of great social importance," Gasic pointed out.
