Serbian Minister of Internal Affairs Bratislav Gasic, in response to the statement made by the Kosovo Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Svecla, who said that "about 400 Serbian extremists are being trained at the border between Kosovo and Serbia," emphasized that Svecla should be reminded that in accordance with the Constitution of Serbia, the UN Charter, and Resolution 1244, "Kosovo and Metohija is part of Serbia". Gasic also emphasizes that Serbia will not allow Serbs in Kosovo to be exposed to Sveclje's aggression or the aggression of "his paramilitary formations".

"Whenever Svecla accuses the President of Serbia, it is actually an announcement of new violence and pressure on Serbs, whom he wants to expel from their ancestral homes. He knows that everything he writes and says is a lie, but he is trying to justify his lack of independence and self-confidence because unlike him and Kurti, President Vucic bravely makes decisions by listening to his people, and the only interest for him is the protection of the Serbian population and their interests in Kosovo and Metohija," Gasic said, as stated in the statement by the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to him, conflicts and tensions are the only language that Svecla, as well as "his master Kurti," know how to communicate, not through dialogue, respect for agreements, and international agreements.

"By unlawfully assuming KFOR's competencies, creating illegal ROSU bases in northern Kosovo, they show that they do not respect the Brussels Agreement, that they do not respect Europe or its institutions, and that peace and the rule of law are neither known nor desired categories for them," Gasic emphasizes.

He adds that violence, hatred, persecution, and killing of Serbs are what they are infected with, and they do not hesitate to openly show it.

"Can a normal and democratic society be achieved by releasing the criminal Azem Kurtaj, a member of the so-called KSF, who shot at Serbian children on Christmas Eve? The President of the Republic of Serbia acts in accordance with his constitutional powers. And I will remind Svecla that in accordance with the Constitution of Serbia, the UN Charter, and Resolution 1244, Kosovo and Metohija is part of our country. Serbia is an independent, sovereign state, with a continuous policy of peace, stability, and prosperity led by President Aleksandar Vucic, and normalcy, democracy, order, and law are not its aspiration, but the reality that Serbia lives. And as such, it knows how to protect its people in the southern Serbian province. We will not allow Svecla or his paramilitary formations, who are just dressed-up KLA members, nor new pogroms, expulsions, and killings of Serbs," Gasic said.

He stressed that Serbia does not attack its people or its territories but defends the interests and security of its citizens, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

"Because dignity, national pride, and preservation of Serbian history, tradition, and culture are priceless," Gasic concludes.

Kosovo Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Svecla said that the situation in the north is still fragile because Belgrade has an extremely destructive approach towards Kosovo, and that "Vucic and his government have used Kosovo's territory to provoke tensions throughout the region, and beyond."
