Political scientist Ognjen Gogic assessed that the Constitutional Court of Kosovo has effectively obliged Albanian parties—particularly the election winner Self Determination—to vote in the next round for a vice-president nominated by Serb List, he told RTS.

“The Constitutional Court has practically bound the Albanian parties, above all the election winner Self-Determination, to vote in the next cycle for a vice-president from the Serb List. Otherwise, the Assembly of Kosovo cannot be constituted and a government cannot be elected. So this is, in fact, a form of malice and revanchism,” Gogic said.

He added that there is a race against time, since the Kosovo Assembly must pass the budget by the end of February and elect a president by early March.

“By acting this way, Albanian parties are actually creating a problem for themselves—this could come back to them like a boomerang,” Gogic emphasized.
