Griep: Trendafilova’s conference canceled in the interest of public safety

Angela Griep, Spokesperson for the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, stated that the conference of the President of the Specialist Chambers, Ekaterina Trendafilova, which was scheduled to take place today in Pristina, was canceled “in the interest of public safety,” Kosova Press reports.

“I can confirm that today’s event has been canceled in the interest of public safety and based on the advice of the Kosovo Police. That is all I can say for now. We will see later about any further information. There is nothing more I can say about this,” Griep said.

The media briefing by the President of the Specialist Chambers, Ekaterina Trendafilova, in Pristina was canceled after Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) veterans set off smoke bombs in front of the hotel where the conference was to be held.

Police blocked the entrance to the Sheraton Hotel, while chants of “KLA, KLA” could be heard throughout.

Trendafilova arrived in Kosovo yesterday, where she is expected to stay until tomorrow.
