The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia announced that on this day in 1975, the President of the United States, Gerald Ford, paid an official visit to Belgrade, becoming the second American president to visit Yugoslavia.
“This visit represented a significant step in building a relationship of trust and political dialogue during one of the key periods of modern history. Today, Serbia and the United States continue to develop their relations in the spirit of mutual interest and respect, with a shared vision of strategic partnership and a future marked by comprehensive cooperation,” stated the Serbian MFA in a post on the social media platform X.
